25.1 RELEASE

Here are the official IMPLAN production release notes for version 25.1 released on January 29, 2025.

SITEWIDE

  • Implemented an improved profile page for users to view and manage their own information, preferences, notifications, and password resets all in one screen.

REGIONS

  • Added two new tables to Region Details > Study Area > Area Demographics highlighting the breakdown of commuting flows of income into and out of the U.S. based Regions.
    • Regional Employee Wage & Salary Income by Place of Residence: Segments the total Wage & Salary Income income earned in a Region into “Residents Working Locally” and “In-commuters”  
    • Resident Wage & Salary Income by Place of Work: Segments the total Wage & Salary Income earned by residents in a Region into “Residents Working Locally” and “Out-commuters”

IMPACTS

  • Improved the accuracy of Multi-Regional Input-Output Projects that utilize Industry Impact Analysis (IIA) Events by accounting for all Event Inputs when calculating interregional trade.
  • Improved the accuracy of trade in Multi-Regional Input-Output Projects whenever Local Purchase Percentage values are less than 100% within  Industry Impact Analysis (IIA), Commodity Output, or Spending Pattern Events.
  • Added a new error message warning users whenever multiple Groups have the same name on the Impacts page. IMPLAN requires that all Group Names are unique within a single Project.
  • Added more detailed Tax Results to Projects that utilize the 2021 Canada Provincial data including a split across government levels and relabeling of tax categories. Read more in 2021 Canada Provincial Data Release Notes. 
  • Relabeled factors and Institutions for the Canada Provincial Product. Those relabels are as follows:
    • Proprietor Income is now Gross Mixed Income
    • Other Property Income is now Gross Operating Surplus
    • Government Consumption Expenditures is now General Governments Consumption Expenditures
    • Government Investment is now General Governments Investment 
    • All Non-Profit Industries (217-223) will include “NP” in the Industry description
    • All Government Sector Industries (224-234) will include “GS” in the Industry description

GUIDES

  • Added an embeddable map to the Results page of the Enterprise Guide to expand the reporting experience for Guide users.
  • Added the ability for users to utilize Event Tags within the Enterprise Guide. Users have the ability to filter by Event Tag to modify the Event Results that are displayed on the Enterprise Guide map.

SPENDING PATTERNS & MARGINS

  • Improved Commodity Margins in the Canada Provincial Product by adding the Taxes on Products and Imports Net of Subsidies (TOPS) (Commodity 3235). Note that this will only apply to the 2021 Commodity Margins, which will be the default for all Canada Data Years unless manually changed by the user.

PROJECTS

  • Added an Event Tag column to the files that can be downloaded from the Download tab of the Results page.  
  • Improved the Project page by adding the ability to search and filter Projects and to bulk move Projects into folders.
